Position Overview - Product Manager –

TRUPOINT Partners has an immediate opening for a Product Manager.  A TRUPOINT Partners Product Manager’s job will be responsible for specific product lines and must be able to manage it in the context of the overall business objectives.  This role will focus on increasing the profitability of existing product lines and developing new products.  You will responsible for building products from existing ideas as well as developing new ideas based on industry experience, market research and input from fellow team members, customers and prospects.

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of business and technical savvy and have a clear vision of what defines product success and the drive to make that vision a reality.   You must enjoy spending time with our clients (financial institutions) and invest the time to understand their problems, and find innovative, profitable solutions for them. You must be able to communicate with all areas of TruPoint (sales, marketing, engineering). You will work with senior management to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working with the sales channel, key customers, and company advocates.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Product Development

    • Design Specs:  Research and define market needs.  Develop specifications for product development.

    • Enhancements:  Manage enhancements from concept and initial design through to market launch and rollout. Manage customer test environment for products.

    • Launch:  Working with others to develop and implement new product launch plans and ensuring that these plans are implemented successfully.  

  • Product Management

    • General:  Accountable for feasibility of market requirements, reports, pricing and billing requirements, data elements, input and output specifications, product configuration, consumer disclosure procedures and data display guidelines.  Determine strategic plans and roadmaps for products.  Create and implement product vision and direction.

    • Life Cycle:  Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.

    • Enhancements:  For minor product enhancements; gather, validate, and evaluate product/market requirements through market and customer research, competitive and product research.

    • Revenue and Profitability:  Manage product profitability by maintaining volume and revenue variance reports, usage reports and budget reports on an on-going basis. Manage the daily operations of products by producing budget reports, monitoring budgets, maintaining system performance metrics.

    • Matrix Management:  Work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, executive management, current and potential clients. Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning. Work with Technology to prioritize and implement product roadmap items, minor enhancements and various product fixes.

    • Ongoing Research:  Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and prospects. Understand contributory database statistics and market share status. Complete legal research, analysis and compliance tasks as appropriate. 

    • Expert Resource:  Serve as a source of knowledge for all applicable product offerings.  Assist all teams as Subject Matter Expert by providing input and validation of market research, market problem discovery, and identification of customer prospects, business proposals, product market requirements and RFI/RFP's. Understand regulatory and legislative requirements affecting products.  Understand competitive landscape. Responsible for developing training documentation, sales and operations training, customer notifications and customer documentation for minor enhancements.

    • Sales, Marketing and Support:  Responsible for maintaining up to date product information repositories, website content, help files.  Develop and deliver materials to the appropriate marketing and sales organizations which convey the purpose and details of the product, definition of its uses, benefits to the customer, customization capabilities, and competitive comparison. Provide assistance with customer implementations, consumer disclosure and support.

  • Partnership Development

    • Being part of the team to analyze potential partner relationships for the product line.  Identify, develop, and manage contractual, technical, and consulting relationships with strategic partners and providers, including joint ventures and subsidiary relationships and projects if applicable for product portfolio.

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • 2-5 years of experience leading product, program, engineering, or other project functions

  • In-depth knowledge of product management and evaluation processes.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Solid understanding of financial responsibilities.

  • Ability to teach and train others, conduct presentations, and fulfill other communication tasks (oral and written) in a professional manner.
